While complications can always arise, our overriding objective is to make the process of importing and exporting goods as simple and as worry free for you as it can be. Here are the typical mechanical steps that will result in you or your client receiving their goods on time and in good condition ... 1. Fax/email/mail us a copy of the confirmed order you have placed with your overseas supplier. We will then contact all the parties involved to determine what freight arrangements have already been made, if any, and establish a monitoring programme to completely manage that consignment through all its stages. If there are still aspects of that consignment’s transportation yet to be arranged, we will liaise with you in selecting the most appropriate, economic options and include those in the monitoring schedule. 2. Once we have confirmation from your supplier that your order has been dispatched, we will check the completed shipping documents in detail and ensure the necessary certificates have been obtained to allow the goods into the country. 3. When the documentation has been completely checked we will pre-clear your goods through NZ Customs and any other border control agencies that may have an interest in the shipment, e.g. MAF, Health. 4. To assist your cash flow planning, we can at this time advise you how much you will need to pay in duties, etc. to obtain release of the cargo. 5. When the goods arrive we will pay, on your behalf and with your approval, any amounts that need to be paid, e.g. To NZ Customs, and any freight forwarder or shipping company involved, to release your cargo and have it delivered promptly, anywhere in New Zealand. 6. If you have a preferred delivery firm, we will liaise closely with them and supply them with all the documentation they need to collect your freight as soon as possible. In Auckland, we have our own in-house delivery fleet available to you, and out of Auckland we utilise a number of other proven, economical delivery services. 7. Depending on our agreed terms of trade we may request that you pre-fund us for some of the larger pre-approved disbursements we may make on your behalf. 8. We have secure storage facilities to hold your goods in case you don’t want them delivered immediately. We are also happy to bring the goods into our warehouse and distribute them, in part or in whole, anywhere in the country, immediately or at some later time. Fundamental to the smooth workings of all these processes is frequent and useful communication. We won’t waste your time, but we do like to keep you informed of anything which might affect the condition or delivery of your goods, or that may expose you to risk or loss, so that you always have the opportunity to be involved in the decision making process that follows from these occurrences. You can be involved in each of your shipments as much, or as little, as you want to be. Whatever level you choose, you are always assured that any actions we may take on your behalf will be in strict accordance with your instructions, and that your wishes will always be respected, and wherever possible, will be achieved. The regular positive feedback we receive from our clients assures us that your complete satisfaction can be absolutely guaranteed. |
